Premium catio systems worth designing around.

This is deliberately not a store. Kindred lists a small number of systems that can make sense as part of a well-planned project, then looks at whether they fit the house and site.

1. Habitat Haven Overlook Series

For homeowners who want a substantial modular enclosure rather than a lightweight portable structure. The Overlook uses Habitat Haven’s powder-coated galvanized steel mesh system and is available in multiple sizes and trim packages. Current published pricing starts around $3,467.

Why we would consider it: the enclosure itself is a serious component, while the project still leaves room for site-specific decisions about access, flooring, roof/drainage relationships, screening, and how the enclosure visually meets the house.

2. Habitat Haven Cabana

The Cabana provides a roughly 92 × 92 inch footprint and a steel roof support frame, with cedar and accessory packages available. Current published pricing starts around $1,999.

Best fit: a homeowner who has the footprint for a generous enclosure and wants a defined modular system rather than a fully custom welded or wood-framed cage.

3. Habitat Haven Lion's Den

A configurable three- or four-sided modular option currently starting around $1,459. It is useful when the project wants more enclosure than a window box but does not need the footprint or cost of the larger systems.

4. Habitat Haven Window Enclosure

Current published pricing starts around $425. We treat it as a compact system, not a “cheap catio.” Whether it works well depends heavily on the window, sill, closure, water exposure, and how the enclosure is supported or connected.

Purrfect Fence systems

For some properties, the real goal is giving cats access to a much larger yard area rather than building an enclosed room. Purrfect Fence offers freestanding systems, existing-fence conversions, and a fully enclosed Penthouse product. We would treat these as a different project type, not as a direct aesthetic substitute for an integrated catio.

Catnets reinforced and low-visibility netting

Net systems can be useful when visual openness or a large irregular area matters. They need careful edge fixing, tension, access, and weather consideration. Catnets also offers installer/wholesale support, which makes the system particularly relevant for professionally planned projects.

Our selection rule: recommend the system that fits the site and desired finish. Kindred does not rank products by commission rate and does not represent manufacturer claims as our own testing.

Compensation disclosure

Current manufacturer links are ordinary links unless specifically labeled “Partner link.” If Kindred activates a dealer, wholesale, installer, referral, or affiliate relationship, compensated links will be identified near the recommendation. Compensation does not determine which system we recommend, and the customer’s purchase remains with the named supplier unless a separate Kindred sales agreement says otherwise.

Which premium system actually fits?

We compared Habitat Haven’s Lion’s Den, Cabana and Overlook by footprint and project fit, and also compared rigid enclosures against perimeter fencing and low-visibility netting.
